Content Description

The oral history interview of Balu Valvi, an traditonal healer who has been practicing indigenous medicine making past 25 and more years. He talks about the preparation of medicine and how he gives the medicine to the patient. Most prominently he is giving medicine from coconut water and normal water to one single patient. He specialises in kidney stone, diseases related to women's menstrual cycle and snake bite.

The audio quality of the recording is good, except for disturbance from the background voices.

The oral history interview gives the testimony of first hand experience of the traditional tribal healers called Vaidu's. It gives us a detailed information of the preparation of herbal medicine, their names in tribal language, disease names in tribal language, methods of preparing medicine and proportion of dosage.
