Scope and Contents
Copy of letter from L.K. Jha, Ambassador of India to the USA, to Satish Dhawan. Jha quotes a cable from Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, where Gandhi asks Dhawan to "accept the stewardship of our space organisation" following the demise of Vikram Sarabhai. Includes note on separation of space program from Atomic Energy Commission. Jha has cabled Dhawan's acceptance of the position with an intent to continue at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) as well.
