These are 6 sets of volumes prepared and published by MPSM between 1995 to 2000. These are softbound saddle stitch booklets, covers essential topics including governance, Panchayati Raj, home remedies, and education, all aimed at increasing literacy and providing primary knowledge about society and cultural norms to tribes.

Condition Description

The volumes has develop discoloration and foxing spots on its covers and inside pages. Otherwise the overall condition is good.

These booklets hold significant archival value for MPSM, as they were prepared by MPSM staff and published by the MPSM in 1995. The reason of being unique to MPSM, as they contain a literacy plan specifically designed for tribal communities.The complete set consists of six volumes, will be included in the new MPSM Papers collection.

The material was found in the central office archives of MPSM, Nashik. Later all the volumes were digitizes by Pratiksha (Resource Development Officer)as a part of the collection and was uploaded on drive.

Retention Rule

This is a permanent transfer of material to MPSM, where it will be preserved and made accessible as part of its growing institutional archive. Digital copies will be permanently housed at both the Archives at NCBS and MPSM. The material directly supports the PAST project’s aim to document science institutions through personal and institutional histories, aligning with the grantee’s ongoing archival work.
