Some prints have turned yellow, indicating chemical deterioration over time. Physical damage is also evident—certain photographs show cockling (waviness), suggesting exposure to humidity or water. A number of images have edges that appear burnt, possibly due to fire damage or exposure to extreme heat. Insect activity is visible on some photographs, with portions partially eaten or perforated.
