Content Description
There are 3 volumes of APAN weekly prepared by MPSM staff and published by MPSM. The first one is the inaugral volume, comprised of 50 issues, along with 1 special issues. Second volume includes 52 issues and the third volmue also manitains 52 issues. The weekly contains information about agriculture, health, enviornment, tribals, news and intiatives of MPSM carried out in the respective years of the publication.
Condition Description
Volumes 1: The volume has undergone insect infestation, there are several holes, the paper has become acidic, and several tears on pages.Volume 2: In this volume the spine of the book is detached from the cover and there are several lose pages and it has also underwent insect infestation. The pages of the book are acidic. The condition of this volume is not stable and requires urgent conservation. Volume 3: This volume has underwent insect infestation there are holes. the paper has turned acidic and tears on the paper, overall it is in a good condition.

Dispostion
The accession comprises three hard bound volumes of weekly publications. These volumes serve as a chronological and thematic record of MPSM’s past activities, reflections, and community engagement efforts. It also depicts the condition of agriculture practices,tribals and rural society, post 1965. The three volumes collectively offer insight into the evolving priorities, discussions, and grassroots initiatives of MPSM, and are a valuable archival resource. The volumes will be included in new MPSM Papers Collection.

The material was founded in the Kavivarya Tilak Library, which is housed inside the Holy cross church premises. It was founded by the Parish Priest of the church Fr. Vijay Gonsalves. As the church serves the birthplace of MPSM and publication of APAN. The material was trasferred to Archives department of MPSM to Archives coordinator (Bhavana Tole).
Retention Rule
This is a permanent transfer of material to MPSM, where it will be preserved and made accessible as part of its growing institutional archive. Digital copies will be permanently housed at both the Archives at NCBS and MPSM. The material directly supports the PAST project’s aim to document science institutions through personal and institutional histories, aligning with the grantee’s ongoing archival work.
